SS8 - Today we discussed America's involvement in WWI.  We read two of Wilson's speeches to Congress, one urging neutrality in 1914 and then one urging a declaration of war in 1917.

HW - Read Section IV, Ch. 24 page 704 "THE FAILED PEACE."
        -Finish  10 questions on the two speeches from class.

APUSH - see syllabus.  Today students presented on the themes of the 1920's.

SS8- Today we covered trench warfare and America's involvement in WWI.  We started class with a quiz.  Tonight's HW is to read section III of Chapter 24 "Americans in Battle."

Tuesday, 2/25

SS8 - Today we discussed WWI and its causes.  We watched 15-minutes of the Century from ABC News.  Tonight's HW is to read section II, Ch. 24 "From Neutrality to War."  There will be a quiz on the reading Wednesday.

SS8 - Today we continued our discussion on American Imperialism.  We focused on the Panama Canal and Teddy Roosevelt's Big Stick Policy.  We are using cartoons, short video clips and a powerpoint to teach Chapter 23.  Tonight's HW - Read Section I, Chapter 24 "The World in Europe."  Page 684.

SS8 - Today we discussed the Spanish American War with some depth.  We ended class by watching short video on the building of the Panama Canal.  That video is a preview of tonight's reading.  HW tonight is to read Section III of Chapter 23 "The United States in Latin America," page 675.
