Friday, October 4th

Social Studies 8 - Today we started creating our Slavery Glogs.  Students are working individually or with a partner.  We will finish our glogs on Monday and Tuesday.

Homework:  Finish Causes of Civil War Fill-Ins & Two Short Responses (Due Monday)



APUSH - Today we watched a lecture on the formation of the Articles of Confederation from Yale Professor Joann Freeman.  We did not get to watch the lecture in its entirety so I have linked it below.  Make sure to watch the last 10 minutes of the lecture.

Thursday, October 3rd

Social Studies 8 - Today we explored the PBS webpage "Slavery and the Making of America."  (This website is linked on my blog)  We showed how to navigate the site in search of different pieces of evidence for the Legacy of Slavery assignment.  After today students should have completed FIVE of the SIX sources for this assignment.  Students will continue with this assignment as they read Nightjohn (the one source not completed) in English.

The Legacy of Slavery assignment will be due at a later date (TBD- based on English class reading)

Homework - Students were given an assignment on the Causes of the Civil War - Due Monday.  Students may use textbooks and notes to help with this assignment.

APUSH -  Today we discussed America's fist government the Articles of Confederation.

Tuesday, October 1st

Social Studies 8 - Today students were to be the historian by researching in their textbooks and through 8 historical documents to find further evidence for the eight attributes of slavery.  

HW - None 

APUSH - Students wrote a FRE in class from a previous AP Exam.  Tonight's HW:
