Monday, September 9th

Social Studies 8 - Today we continued our discussion of why we study history and particularly looked at some major events that will be covered throughout this year.  This was a beginning to help set up our first CLARKLISTO project where students choose a photo from our 8th grade study and prepare a presentation.

HOMEWORK - Cover textbook

APUSH - Today we played a little catch-up and modeled the HIPPOCAMPUS aspect of this course (a little too quickly).  Tonight's homework is to complete Friday's assignment on the syllabus.

I have also linked a video I was going to share with students in class but did not have the needed time.  This was a continuation of our discussion of why we study history.

EXTRA CREDIT OPTION - Going against the norm.  I will offer any APUSH student a 20/20 on a minor assignment who watches the President Obama's address to the nation on Tuesday.

Create a chart from his speech outlining TWO aspects of the speech:

Arguments for strikes against the Syrian Regime / Concerns about involving the US in Syria

A simple T-Chart will suffice.
