Tuesday, September 10th

Social Studies 8 - Today we continued our look at key events of the 8th grade curriculum.  We specifically brainstormed and recorded some THEMES of HISTORY.

Homework-  Having identified THREE themes that may be enjoyable each student now needs to go into the textbook and find a specific event/person/law/movement etc. that would fit into that theme.  Please note the page that the specific event appeared on.  This assignment can be completed on the piece of paper we were working with in class.

APUSH - Today we discussed loyalty and dissent in American History.  Students will present on an early American dissenter and his/her contribution to the formation of a young nation.

Here in America we are descended in blood and in spirit from revolutionists and rebels -- men and women who dare to dissent from accepted doctrine. As their heirs, may we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.
-Dwight D Eisenhower
